Today is frikkin awesome

I slept in, did some laundry, and turned on the radio. I tell you what, I looove michigan radio. ‘This American Life’ was on, and it was telling the story of Carlton Pearson. Wow. The show brought me to tears. You can listen to it (it’s really worth it) by clicking on this link– to the left there is a link that says ‘complete archive’ and then within that select 2005 then on the date 12/16 (entitled “Heretics”) and you should be able to hear the whole show by clicking on the little sound icon. I have so many thoughts on this, but I can’t articulate them now.

J and I gave a double date to my bro’s girlfriend for her birthday. So we’re gonna go see Man of the Year at the dollar theater and go out to a late dinner at DaLat. Fun Fun. I love presents that involve doing something. They are the best kind. The problem is, most people that I give those gifts to don’t redeem them for fear that it’s an inconvenience or whatever. But Michelle is badass and took us up on it. Yay.

I’m going to have java with da Ashley before the movie. I love her so much. I just don’t see her enough. Tony got into a pretty serious accident playing soccer. He got kneed in the face and broke all sorts of bones. He had to get some serious reconstructive surgery involving plates and splints and re-breaking of things. He’s going to be fine, but it sucks extra because Tony is one of the nicest guys ever, and he is one of those people that is just sort of perpetually active. Now he’s got to sit around for weeks. Right now he can only sit in the dark and… sit. It’s painful for him to even listen to anything. So Ashley has been going over there and holding him silently in the dark. Love is a good thing.
