Staying grateful…
I have been up all night throwing up. Isn’t that lovely? I have been thoroughly blessed with a relatively symptom-free pregnancy, and I haven’t come down with even a sniffle really. Then, all of the sudden, out of the depths, came my old friend the stomach flu. I tell you, I reached depths of patheticalness (oh it’s a word) last night that I hadn’t seen for a very long time. Thankfully from the research I’ve been able to do (in between “sessions”) I’ve discovered that the baby should be unphased except for my need to stay hydrated. Hopefully I’ll be able to do that soon. I’ve been trying. WAAAAH!
As whiny and dumpy as I feel right now, I have to remember that when things like this happen- the most miraculous thing occurs! I remember all the things I can be grateful for today. Let’s figure them out together:
Thank God I didn’t get hit by a car today!
Thank God I didn’t burst into flames today!
Thank God that I have a body that happily rejects “boogabagas” (aka harmful microorganisms).
Thank God that I have a super snuggly pup!
Thank God for a Jeff that will happily wait on me when he gets back from class.
Thank God I don’t have insomnia on a regular basis (what a drag).
Thank God that my livejournal friends can’t catch the flu from me!
Now it’s your turn. I’ve only scratched the surface here. Tell me what you are grateful for today! There’s nothing too small! Besides, I need something to read while I’m home today…

One half chic in a crock pot, lots of water, 2 cups chopped onion, handful of garlic, pinch of sage. Simmer for hours til the onions are soft. Strain out the broth, and sip til you feel better. The chic tastes good in sandwiches.
Lovely idea. I think I’ll do that. Thanks!
I forgot an ingredient – add chic bouillion to taste.
Thank God for John Wilkes Booth
They just keep getting worse…
It was so strange last night, not twenty minutes after you left I got SO sick. It was nice hangin out and talking though, we should do it more often. I hope I didn’t get you sick!
Did you have to look that one up, or was that information you had on file in your brain?
You are fast! A bit of both actually. I doubted my initial interpretation, but then wikipedia confirmed that you are, in fact, a total crazy. Congrats.
Ahh, that wiki. What a lovely lass. Check your email. Want some taters?
Oh noes!! Hope you feel better soon ;-(
I’m grateful for a phone call with my parents, a walk with Olive and Jake, and Pleasantville being on the TV tonight.
I am already! Jeff made me some chicken noodle soup and I’ve been sipping on Vernors. It’s a good life, even when you’re sick.
Yay for all that good stuff! Your dad really pulled through… Olive is just the sweetest… you seem to have it pretty made!
Hokey
I am thankful for posts from you which make me smile.
Re: Hokey
I am thankful for hokey comments made by one of my oldest and dearest friends who is soon to be coming to Michigan to meet my baby and eat my food after she has squeezed many a lemon and sold the juices on the streets for bus fair. amen.
