I used to dread Sundays
…mostly because it was the day before Monday, but that’s a horrible way to look at it. I don’t dread any days now, and so I bask in the glory that is Sunday every week. Hoorah.
Last night was surprisingly good. Ashley and I went to Corner Brewery – way fun because they’re all hyped up for Oktoberfest. There was music and dancing and yumtastic beer. There were whole families laughing and drinking and dancing with their babies. I wanna learn how to play the accordion. It was funny because we were just lounging on the couches and lo and behold Jeffy and his buddy walked in 🙂 Funny how we end up together even on our nights out with friends. I’m just glad his friends are mine and mine are his. Besides, I never get sick of him.
Ash and I went on to a frat-tabulous bar. I was afraid I would die from all of the cologne and yelling, but it turned out to be a great time. I saw some folks from high school that I hadn’t seen in years. It was also cool because there was limited small-talk considering the time apart. We did the ‘how are you, how are you, whoa long time’ thing then moved into good stuff.
Then we went to a party for Ashley’s boyfriend’s lil brother’s 21st. ha. Say that 3 times fast. We’ve grown out of house parties for the most part, but again I was pleasantly surprised for the same reasons. Good people, good conversation, and not once did I want to smoke!
Speaking of which, I had my 3 month anniversary of being quit yesterday! Hooray for me. I am, however, addicted to toothpicks now. Whatever, could be much much worse. Plus they’re so tasty and good for my teeth.
So Jeff and I woke up ravenous and made what we have named “Mounds of Browns”.
This is his amish looking beard. He said that since he did it people ask him if he’s Amish (our last name is Yoder for those that don’t know), so he tells them yes and then says “hold on one sec” then opens his cell phone. Silly people.
I found out that there are only two people with my maiden name in the US, but 31 with my current name.

Only 2?
Nah…there are lots of Balmers around in the US. And I’m sure there are hundreds with Yoder. Did you mean in Ann Arbor? Or Washtenaw County?
Re: Only 2?
With my name specifically. Grace Balmer and Grace Yoder. There are thousands of both but not with my name combination. To give you an idea of how accurate this thing is- I just did it for your name and it came up as 0. haha. You don’t even exist!

Accordions are fun! I bought my last ex-boyf a beautiful vintage Italian one… haha and then he ran away with it to Spain! BUT ANYWAY… Yay for not wanting to smoke! And ooh yaaaay it’s Oktoberfest time! Yaaay!
The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain. That’s all I know about that.
