GAH!

Okay… livejournal is really on my last nerve. How’s a girl expected to blog about anything?! I don’t really want to leave this space, but with the little time I have to write and the frequency of just overall malfunctioning I’m experiencing here… well I just don’t know. It’s sad, too. I’ve got food stuff, garden stuff, etc. to share!
I’m going to keep trying, for now. Rather than write, I will give some much needed attention to my friend’s list. Hopefully tomorrow this will work better. (Sorry, Dad! I do plan to get you a food post soon!!)

When LJ is being super wonky for me I’ll just create my post in a txt file on Notepad and then copy and paste later once LJ is cooperating. That way I don’t feel like I lose a whole post or something. It’s annoying not to be able to post, but at least I don’t feel like my time has been wasted and I can try copying/pasting again later.
Is LJ just eating your entires completely or what? Lately, every time I go to post, it never finishes loading the page after I click “post entry” but then it posts it anyways.
P.S. Tell Asa he should call me more often. 😉 I like saying getting to say hello! 😀
I’ve lost a few posts, which it sounds like I can fix by writing them out somewhere else. But it is SO frustrating when it happens. It used to so reliably auto save that I never worried if something cut me off. I also have spotty access to my page and my friend’s page, which I thought was a browser issue, but with all the other issues, I’m not so sure. That hasn’t happened in a couple of weeks though. Also, it seems that the picture posting process is now multiple steps (I used to be able to alter the size etc in one swoop, now I have to click the image and then do size. It just slows things down. Anyway, I will keep trucking away. I think it wouldn’t be as big a deal if I had more time to iron out glitches, but I often just have an hour here or there to write, and I want it to be simple.
I’ll pass the message along to Asa! So funny. 🙂
I compose my posts in an LJ client and then post when they’re ready. At least then they don’t get lost if LJ goes down. But you can do the same thing by using any word processor and then copy-pasting into the field and attaching pics anytime LJ is working.
I wouldn’t blame you for going to a different blog host though.
Thanks for the tip! I think I’ll try that. 🙂
Yes, what happened?
I’ve seen some little glitches over the past couple of days–mostly the main page not completely loading, etc. But everything resolved itself within a few minutes.
I use Semagic for my posts, where you can save a draft and go back later.
Re: Yes, what happened?
You can see in an above comment what specifically is happening. I do think it’s a good idea to draft somewhere else! Thanks for the idea. 🙂
Please keep trying!

I’ll keep reading your posts, even if you change venues. But I second what other people have said about writing posts elsewhere and copying them in.
