Eh?
There are so many good things in the world.
I notice that I’m prone to these revelations from time to time.
I got home from work today feeling overwhelmed and unsatisfied. I saw a pile of dishes in the sink and Jeff sitting at the computer. My dog was jumping all over me. My head felt like a big balloon and my nose had decided to switch off and no longer accept any air.
I sent Jeff off to get candy and pay rent. I cleaned the massive pile of crusty dishes.
Would you guess that was all I ever needed? The steam from the dishes partially cleared my nasal passages, and lo and behold I can breathe! I then walked out to see my pup sitting peacefully like she usually does at the front window. And I thought to myself: this life is good.
There was a little girl who came into the office today with her mom, couldn’t have been older than 2. She was wearing a fairy princess costume. It was surprisingly and painfully cute. I said “You are SO beautiful!” to which she replied “Yeah!” Kids are cool.
“After you’ve been in a place for a while, everything starts to look… I won’t say better, there’s no need to go to extremes… but your everyday life does start to become… familiar.” -David Assael
Boo.
