I say tomato, you say tomato…

It’s a groundhog, or a woodchuck, or a whistlepig (i’d never heard that one), or a land beaver…. I suppose gophers are different (sorry Marya).

WHATEVER YOU CALL IT- IT IS EATING MY VEGETABLES AND STEALING MY MAYA’S AFFECTION!!!!
I shall illustrate for you:

awww… cute rodent!

oooh, what’s he doing? Digging a hole? cute!!!

hey look! he wants to play!

ooh, he must be the gardening type.
… wait. Mr. Woodchuck! I…uh…those are my…HEY!!!

oh, you can have a salad I suppose. That’s an awfully large salad…
Would you like to stay for some tea?

he just left! how rude!!!

and day after day… vegetable after vegetable… that was how it went. He took no prisoners, he showed no mercy.

And then the worst of it came…

Maya fell in love.

All day long she’d sniff for him. When we’d get home, she’d run to the back door- hoping for a glimpse of him. When we tried to stop her she would look at us longingly. If we really didn’t budge, she would slip into a deep depression.

We couldn’t take it anymore! We formulated a plan.

And this is where we stand. WE MUST WIN BACK THE LOVE OF MAYA!!!!
